Agenda items for the next DRG meeting



Greetings,
   The following items have been submitted for consideration to be on the agenda of the next DRG
meeting to be held on January 24th, 2009 in Midland, Michigan.  If you have items or issues you
would like discussed at this meeting, please email them to the DRG mailing list or directly

                2)  All over the campus are yellow signs indicating the
                    direction of the main hospital entrance.  These are
                    the signs you wish to follow.
                3)  Enter the hospital and follow the yellow line on the
                    floor up to this point, then turn left:

                4)  Walk through the cafeteria to the far wall.
                    Turn left.
                    The meeting room is cleverly disguised behind a glass
                    wall with white letters about six inches high that say
                    "Private Dining Room".


      NOTE: There will be WiFi available and Hamgate.Midland is atop the
            building, so RF access into the network will be easy.

        o SMS has gone by the wayside with the new RMS/TelPac 
        o Maiko coded to support Airmail w/B2F

  --- HF Digital Modes Working Group?
        o Atlantic Division webinar on Digital Modes being conducted today 1:30-4pm
        o Do we have enough interest to support a WG??
        o Who wants to head such a group??

  --- What can we do to improve the network if we had grant money???
      Discuss and design an ID-1 based 128kbps 1.2 GHz backbone with JNOS
      as the core router and both 2-meter and 440 radio ports for users.
      2-meter at 1200 baud mixed AX.25 and IP, while 440 would be 1200
      (or 9k6 if the locals wish run that speed) IP *only*, no AX.25.
      Begin writing a grant proposal.

        o "Circuit" - Investigate, tests and measure, and suggest better PHYSICAL layer methods
        o "AX25" - Investigate, tests and measure, and suggest better LINK layer settings
        o "TCPIP" - Investigate, tests and measure, and suggest better PACKET & NETWORK layers 
        o "SMTP" - Investigate, tests and measure, and suggest better SMTP settings
